So...there I am,up to my elbows in breaks and while jumping back and forth time sig's and holding down the repeat/roll button-(for thoses lovely,eratic multispeed rolls:>) maybe my finger moves ever so slightly...BAM- Tempo slams down to 40!? how do we disingage this demon? AND still keep tha rollage? -is this why theres 2 different butons for each function on the 2500? help....Thanks,Ras D

I can tell you were you cant find it. Every where but the forum that says "MPC 1000 - Unofficial JJ OS" in the sticky at the top.

there is a way, in the akai os to set the amount of taps for the tap tempo to take effect. in the very beginning, the same thing would happen to me. when i set the "threshold" up to 4 taps, it never happened again.
