Help!! bent pins in my compact flash reader!

From what I understand, I may be up the ish creek. My card reader in my MPC is damaged. I thought that i could get by with just using my internal hard drive and USB PC connection. But now that i want to change my OS, I am gonna have to get my Card reader replaced!! Do I have to send my 1000 back to AKAI??

hey if it's just bent, get surgical about it and unbend em. i did that once, about a year and a half ago and my same card reader still works

That means I have to open up the entire MPC right? I tried to stick a "scalple" in there but surely I figured that I'm gonna do more damage that desired.

unplug the mpc. then try using a long pair of tweezers and bend the pins back into place very slow and gently. if you use too much force, the pins will snap.

if i was you i wouldnt go round poking it with anything you will do more damage

This young cat accidently popped the card out and called himself being helpful trying to push it back in. He jammed it in wrong beofre i could even catch him to say STOP!!!!

I could have slapped that boy senseless

Well if youre just going to get a new one before you buy it you might as well just try to fix the pins your self. It's not going to hurt anything.

question is:
why do you need the CF reader??
you can load an OS up from ur HD
I haven't used my CF in years

can u just drop stuff stight on the hard drive from the usb?

go to load, data wheel to HDD, usb ta da



Put Ye OLd new OS in there, in a folder Called OS so easy to find amoungst the rubble

open highlight file, Press do it
