Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By RokDiesel Sat Oct 20, 2007 11:11 pm
I am using a MO PHATT sounbd module and have it set up like the manual said. I get a midi light on the module and the track is set to MIDI and the device 1A-Device01.

I cannot hear anything. I even checked the monitor on in and out and it registers when I hit a key but no sound?

Thanks-

Rok

Do you have the mo phatt audio out going into a mixer? Midi only transfer data, no sound.

Thanks beat-

Another dumb question...
I guess the 2 just meet at the speakers through the midi map of notes? and the only way to record it is from the audio out?

Just checking...

thank!

I don't understand the first part of your question, but yes the only way to record the sounds are from the audio outs. You will be recording midi data into the mpc on the tracks in your sequence. If you will be doing basslines or keys from the mo phatt, you might wanna think about getting a midi controller. If you want to use different sounds from the module in your sequence, just make different tracks in your sequence and give each sound its own midi channel. Hope this helps.

I have a controller. I just need a preamp mixer. No monitors yet. Will a usb mixer work to plug in my MPC and my sound module? Then I could hear it through my pc?

That should work to get you started. Hook up your midi controller to one of the mpc midi ins and the audio outs to your mixer. You should then be able to hear what you're playin from the mo phatt.

Can I hear it through headphones off the mixer as well?
