Read Antonyms review post. Yo Nym, its in the mail. I can't wait cause to of my pads are dieing a slow death as we speak. Haha, sold my Wii for the cash. Oh well, fewer distractions!

Oh Tbonus, about the cheaper parts for a cheaper MPC, the 500 is cheaper than the 1000 and they seemed to want to go with the more expensive pad design for that model. Why? Cause they knew the outcome of using the faulty 1k pad design. I'm glad you cleared up your position on the matter. I guess we just don't agree. There is too much evidence that shows that they either new and didn't care, or they missed a VERY BIG PROBLEM THAT THEY SHOULVE CAUGHT WHEN THE WERE TESTING THE MODEL BEFORE RELEASING IT TO THE PUBLIC. And if I sell my MPC that does nothing for me now. They already got my money for buying it.

Does the new pad fix get rid of the stupid "double trigger" the original pads have?

If so it looks like it's time for me to upgrade...

you know, 5 minutes after i first started using my mpc i could tell there were problems with the pads. i noticed the double-triggering and the varying sensitivity of the pads RIGHT AWAY. the most basic beta-testing by Akai should have caught this. they also should have been extra careful since they were using a new and unproven pad design for the first time. i have a hard time understanding how they could have screwed up this badly.

now they want us to pay $200 to fix a mistake they shouldn't have made in the first place & we find out the new mpcs now being sold have the new pads. i just got my mpc about 4 months ago so i am a little pissed at this!

I feel you Sooty. I bought my MPC right before my daughter was born cause I knew I wouldn't have cash to throw around for a while so I copped the MP thinking I won't have to worry about anything on it for a while, but no. Lil did I know, in just a couple months I would need to spend $200 on pads that I shouldn't have to buy cause they shouldn't be malfunctioning this soon. So I thank Akai for screwing me @ the perfect time.
And now, the way I see it, new MPC buyers get a price cut cause my MPC really costed $1,199. I'm not mad @ new MPC buyers though, they did nothing, I'm not happy with what Akai did.

damnn that install video gets me soo pumped. putting the adjesive on scares me though!! i'd rather do it than pay someone though. i would give it more tlc :wink:

im gonna sell the 2500 and get this setup
this inside a mpc1000, a laptop with sonar, an acoustic guitar and the zoom h4 would be an awesome mobile production setup

I wouldn't bother.
I bought an MPC-1000 a week ago and it still has the old pads.
Double triggering problem and dodgy sensitivity!
The guy I spoke with denied any sort of pad upgrade in future releases.
He said there was a kit that was available made up of old parts from earlier MPCs. What the ****'s that all about???
That's regarding UK machines. Not sure about any where else.
