Hi!
This is my first post on this forum: i absolutely love the JJ-OS, fantastic!!!

As an additional feature i would immagine a sort of HOLD button or a seperated NOTE ON / NOTE OFF mode on the, that allows me to trigger the start of a loop by hitting the pad once, and stopping the loop whenever i want if i hit the pad a second time...
this would allow you to have loops, which run independent, not ruled by the sequencer, which would allow highly complicated relations between looplenghts and make possible slow shifts in time!

best, k

In the foot switch section. An option for play start + stop on the same footwitch. Currently there is one for only play + stop.

QREAL functions:
qreal assignable to LFO's rate, pitch, filter1, filter2, and level
MIDI CC in => QREAL function
QREAL grid view of tempo changes.

GRID EDIT: detach ZOOM from TC in 6 and 16 pad grid edit

TRIM: crossfade looping. moving cursor over wave

LOOPING: cross fade looping for alternate loop (smooth out the click!).

cosign re: lfo....also id love to see the lfo's cycle to be free of note on's (or at least a choice of trigger on/off, and also lfo rates to be modulated by the env.

here's an updated version of the midi cc in=>qreal data.

1 - assign incoming midi cc signals to various QREAL data.

mkll is gonna love this one. i don't mean assign midi cc to QLINK slider...this way, we could have something like a radium or other controller midied to the mpc and use all the knobs and sliders as an instant qreal control. say you have a control surface in front of you with 8 knobs. you could set each slider to a qreal data like this:

slider 1: track - filter1
slider 2: track - filter2
slider 3: track - reso1
slider 4: track - reso2
slider 5: track - level
slider 6: track - tune

the mpc could be told to recognize the incoming cc signal as qreal data. alternately, if you find that you needed the CC, this setting could be turned off and the cc could be recorded as a cc.

and so on. imagine having instant hands on access to all of these WITHOUT having to assign them in the QLINK screen! this would work better than "assign midi cc to qlink" because if it was done that way, you'd still only be able to assign 2 midi ccs due to the fact that we only have 2 qlinks. this way, we have more instant control.

I would love to see something like NEXT SEQ's IMMEDIATELY PLAY option for triggering audio samples. For example, let's say that you have audio samples cutting off each other when triggered using Mute Group. Normally, the newly triggered sample will trigger at its start. With this option, when a new sample is triggered while the currently playing sample arrives at the beginning of the second bar for example, the newly triggered sample will take over by starting to play from its second bar instead of the first bar as it normally would. In other words, it would cause a sample to take over at the same position in the bar as the sample previously playing.

I've sent an email to JJ about this as well.

Oh, and this feature would much more useful if the option can be chosen per pad/sample so that you can have some pads triggering normally and some pads triggering from the previous playing sample's position.

the akai OS for the mpc2500 had something called "Continuous Sample Track" which performed what you're looking for. if you hit play on a sequence, the track you chose as the continuous sample track would begin playing mid-sample, without having to wait for the next note-on event.

do you have any info?

It would be really cool if there was an alternate window in the mixer to adjust the level of all of the sounds going though a particular output at one time. Or if this function could be assigned to one of the q sliders

yeah kind of like the whole function in gpe, only with the range selecting which outputs. cool idea!

how about quantization strength? ala in reason, you can apply quantize to a track and input 1, the TC note value, and 2, a percentage of how strongly you want the quantization to snap the note in place - 100% being fully, and lesser values being less strict.

this way TC doesn't have to be as rigid and you can maintain humanity while at the same time applying tc to bring back the straggling notes.

greater tempo control via q-link.

current range: 50% - 200%

new range: 0% - 400%

Roland sequencers have that. Used it a lot on the MC50mk2
Request JJ for that Nym, i'll do it too
