it's a ES7, in my opinion it still has some of the freshest accoustic instruments. eventhough it's dated, 5 years now since it first came out ?

matter of fact I prefer the original/ ES series over the new XS after messing around with it briefly at GC.

I got the ES, mixer/control surface, audio/midi interface and a pc all linked 2gether with with 4 firewire cables. giving flexiblity of changing audio/midi/worldclock connections between those devices without physcially repatching a single cable is refreshing.


as for differences between the 2500 and the 4k. I should have gotten the 4k right from the start. I dont even know where to start with this one. 4k sounds better than the 2500, it packs more features, can be used as a sound module, it's more computer based oriented, too many to list.

yea man looks great. I think im gonna get a motif classic soon for christmas. I saw one for cheap in nyc and i jus talways wanted one.. as far as that mpc 4k. I want that joint too. I think that's gonna be my next big purchase after my motif and a new mac.... I would love to learn that machine and right now i only got a 1000. I always thought the 1000 and the 2500 were more for computer based studios....

I really do wanna purchase the 4000 soon. Hopefully when i sell some records i could...

I guess I must be one of the few who sees it the other way.
I prefer smaller screens and a Control Surface that allow me to bring the desired screen up.

charlie man, that shit looks ugly, not trying to hate or antything. But painting those panels is prolly easiest to do.

it's a different story if you took it further and did a custom paint job with accents of red or something that went along with those red panels.


severeign it's a matter of preference. I used to rock 2 19's, but editing waves or even running your DAW is nowhere near a big screen expierience. Beside the 32" screen, also got a 19" hooked up and it's dedicated mostly to battery.
I'd never go back to just 2 19"s at this point. I mean it dont really matter if you running two screen or one big one. Only difference is with big screen you dont got that dead space between two monitors and can run at higher resolutions. I def agree on the control surface, reminds me that I still gotta setup my 01x.

I'll take it one further, I'm not even talking about dual 19's.
I used to use dual 19's then like most thought about the advantage of a single larger screen.
Working both ways just made me tend to have things up because I could not because of need.
Since the Digidesign Control Surfaces allow you to pull up a specific I just bring up what I need when I need it.
A single 23" is cool and I can even tolerate a single 19", but as you say it's preference.
Just that I see many people going large but they just seem to clutter the real estate with lots of open windows.

That's a hot setup too.. There's a few things I wouldn't have there but nonetheless a hot studio..... Are you using the keyboards as sound modules ? and is your plasma on the wall used as a tv or a second monitor......

I do have an LCD wall mounted but not in those last two pics. I use it as a tv since I have the 30" cinema display. I sequence the synths with the 4k & also to control logic when i'm in the mood to use it.

Nice setups...I guess it's time I made a piccy or two my own little studio..I had all the wall done, put in a new floor and had to sturdy wooden desks built...

Boomspot is that an original 1073 or reissue?



Yup the panels were easy to paint, I think next they'll be purple.
