I have this sample that changes tempo. I've tried to time stretch it to a certain tempo, but it still changes tempo within the sample.

What I wanna do is put a 4/4 house beat under the sample. What is the best way to make the sample flow at a steady tempo ? Should I beatmap it with acid?

because your sample don't follow a straigt tempo, you gotta chop! this is the only way to do it, i guess.. chopp it and change the tempo of the different chops so they all follow the same tempo.. you can do this in acid!

Chopping is easy in a program like Recycle - but you don't have to TS every slice if you don't want to

that's assuming that I timestretch the entire file first, before I even chop it right.

as long as i get the chops correct all the chops should stay on beat as long as it is timestretched.

You got an MPC? Do it all on that. Sometimes I can spend 3 or 4 days just getting the samples ready to use for one track, but it's all about the satisfaction.
Trust me just do it once and you'll be hooked!!

It's up to you - if you stretch the sample then chop or vice versa - it's really your call - depends on what your going for - good luck

I usually will try to match my samples up via a turntable (I sample off vinyl) to my track then sample that into the computer - Recycle it - then export and sequence the bits and pieces

You can chop it into a piece from before the tempo changes and one for after, and timestretch either one to match the other one I assume...
