Have U Eva Fixed a MPC2K? No Good Threads Here?

Hey y'all,

- 11/01 Note: Now I see every tutorial re: the 2KXL but nada for the 2KClassic... Can I Get A Witness?

Fixing a MPC2K (orig) and wanted some pointers on cracking her open and fixing certain parts. You see, that part I'm not deathly afraid of! Anyway, I see you all are very thorough and I've been able to find the parts needed thru various sites (mpcparts, etc.).

My question is (3) parts

1. How do I replace my "start/stop" button w/o snapping something?

2. Is replacing the screen as easy as it appears (meaning just dismount and unplug)?

3. Does anyone know how to solder in the fader? or a good tutorial?

First thing you need is to get your hands de-magnitized and static free. A simple way is to touch a plump, or even better ground yourself with some wire attached *not to a **** plug* but to some sort of plumpering install which goes down to earth and not up.

Next thing is a soldering iron. Go crab yourself one with adjustable temperature so that you won't burn any circuits because of overheat. Also get some really good soldering wire, the best you have the longest it lasts.


Other thins are simple as shown on vids and tutorials.
