oh no, dont get me wrong. Tried everything else too. Maybe my soldering skill isnt upto par. Ctoon, the pump type, you have to squeeze the rubber bulb to suck the solder as youre melting. The braid type is like a shoelace made of thin copper? mesh. You hold it over the solder and as you melt it, it absorbs the moten solder.

I used a desoldering station at work. It sucks out the solder at the press of a button. It would probably have taken me about 3 hours just to desolder them with solder wick (braiding).
Honestly, I've always done HRS of soldering for easy jobs because of that problem!!!
Damnit why didnt anyone tell me haha. atleast now I know.
Anything else I need to know? We're talking total liposuction here.
My baby is getting new buttons, pads, and so on.
I cleaned it a month or 2 ago so I wont need to do that again, i hope..
The link has PICTURES. Take one out of the MPC and compare.
Otherwise, ask in the MPC2000[XL] where there are MPC2000[XL] experts. We are just a bunch of arrogant MPC3000/60 users who care little for equipment made after '95.
I got my tact switches from mouser and I'm gonna be attempting this repair this weekend. But I would like to know what weight solder to pick up. And is the flux usually manufatured into the solder? Also 1 had 25 watt soldering iron , is this strong enuff or should I buy one around 40 watts? Any other input is welcomed as well. Thanks in advance.
Do you really need to soder ?? I thought it would be easier than that. I'm reallly interested in changing mine too but I don't want to mess wih it and have more problems after...
If i want to get all the tactile switches replaced ,..VST could do that for me? That would be great to make the mpc3000 like new again,..new tactiles ,.new pads,..new blacklight new screen,...new buttons,..that would be nice!,..anyone has a video how to do that?
alittle off topic but does anyone know the part number for a new inverter? its for a s900. I was gonna have a look with mouser to see if they carry it.
