Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Is there a way to reassign the pads on the mpc 2000 XL. Too note like your keyboard so when i play the mpc. it's just like my keyboard. I'll give a example. If u was looking at the mpc bank 1 pad 1 yes it's midi. if i played pad 1 it will play zone 3 C# or Db on my keyboard. If i played pad 4 it plays zone 1 A# or Bb on my keyboard. Is there a way to set it up like scale. Or Is this Asking to much..

one suggestion would be that the 2000xl has autochromatic assigment where when u assign a sound it basically does what you're asking across all the pads......only con is that the notes aren't always in perfect order

the mpc is mapped out for GM midi by default. heres a quik tip. Go into the auto chrom function, but leave the sound asignment empty and auto chrom to a new pgm, now change the track to the appropriate midi tracks and your set. you can also save this pgm as a template, and load it when needed.

this is actually very easy to do i did it my self. all you do is go to shift+program start on pad 1 by hitting it and then change the note that it sends starting with note 35 and go down the pads and banks until you get to your last note. save it on your os disk in the all seq's and songs file and the all programs and sounds file and it will load that way everytime you start the mpc
