I have a recurring problem with my 2500. I'll record a sample (say 10 seconds long). I'll trim it, put it into a program, set the playback parameters, check it's in POLY play mode, make sure it's not in a mute group etc. Then I'll go to another track/program and make the beats from sample kits that I've made earlier and loaded from memory cards. When I try to play/record the the sample I've just made along with the beats the sample cuts out after about 1 second. I'm getting really frustrated with it. Occasionally I've got round it by saving the entire memory and turning the unit off and back on again but even this isn't working anymore. Can anyone suggest a solution please.

welcome to the forums!

next time do a little search before asking such basic questions, then you don“t have to wait for an answer.

anyways here is what you are looking for: highlight your sample in program mode - press window - now you can select between note on and oneshot. if you select oneshot it will play the sample all the way even if you trigger it only with a short pad push. if you select note on it will playback the sample exactly how and when you hit the pads or keys.
the mono/poly settings determine wether a sample can overlap itself (two or more sounds at the same time) or cut out itself if played more than once.

Thank you selecta jo.

Perhaps I didn't make myself too clear. When I wrote that I'd put the sample into a program and set the playback parameters that's exactly what I meant (i.e. your reply). I do not consider myself an expert but I do know my way around this machine to a certain degree. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar problem and perhaps it was yet another weird bug in the operating system (it doesn't happen all the time which is what makes it so frustrating). Any useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Further to my initial enquiry, I've now noticed that if I record my 'phrase' sample first to Track 1 and then record my beats to track 2, 3 etc the sample on track 1 doesn't cut out but when my beats are recorded to Track 1 and then I record the longer sample to track 2 it starts to cut out again. My beat samples are all in a seperate program and there are no mutes set up to any of the pads in the program that my 'phrase' sample is in. I've even tried moving this sample around to different pads as the way it cuts out is as if there is some kind of mute group set up in the program....but there isn't. It's driving me nuts. Does anyone have any ideas please.
