Hey.. was wondering.. I got all these drum samples!! but I find it really long to make all the programs out of em.. Is there any way to auto-place them in programs, I mean if I load in 100 kicks in my mpc is there a palce where I can do auto programs for the kicks. Because turning the data weel like crazy and setting each sound to a pad is taking for ever!!

thanks for the help!

wow thanks that one work like a charm!!

i still have one problem, I get some conflicts!! wen i put a sound on one pad sometimes it becomes red and says conflict with an other pad.. and when i play on my mpc the sounds are correct when i press on the pad but when I record they are not the ones on the pad!!! lol ( only the ones with the conflicts!)

for example : i put a sound on B10 and it says conflict with B13 so the sound when I press the pad B10 is corect but not in record mod... its weird! anyone has the same problem ??

thanks

i have a solution!

just load sounds that you plan on using. dont make programs with hundreds of kicks or drums...save yourself some time and use drums that will work for the track you're workin on...

i agree with mike
program built per song, song by song basis.

thats what i do.

but alot of the time i feel rushed to find a good sound because i don't have alot of time usually.

so i could see where that wouldn't be terrible.

you could always purge

it also unfortunately leads to lazy program building, which presents problems with actual sequencing.

using a whole program of all kicks, all snares, etc precludes any possibility of playing any more than 1 drum sound with 1 finger at a time, and since each drum sound uses a different program, it demands that you use different tracks for each drum sound. agonizing to edit - endless flipping between tracks.

i speak from experience. i used to do that sht and would NEVER look back.

back when I used software it used to do my nut in cuz i had thousands of kicks and snares etc etc. and finding suitable sounds in my massive sample library was a nightmare and soooooo time consuming.....
these days though, now that I'm more experienced, I only use breaks for my drums, ie. the snares, kicks, hats etc all come from the same place and the same "moment" so it sounds natural.
Thats one thing I really hate, odd sounding beats with kicks from one source and snares from another and stuff....sounds sh!t to me.
...and I have a strong dislike for those sample librarys/banks that you can buy.
Everyone's different though, that's just me. I'm into records and finding sh!t to use is half the fun.
