Shipping an MPC!!!

I just won an MPC 60II on ebay and I'm just wondering how much it would cost to ship this thing? Any rough ideas 'cause I don't want to get scammed on the postage! I thought it would be about £50 ($100), is this reasonable?

$120 usps would be probably the cheapest you could get for shipping. i'm selling an mpc60 on ebay right now, and ive looked into shipping all over the world, and from montana,usa to the uk is around $200 (without packaging fee) the $120 price will not (as far as i know) include any tracking, which is something you will want to have since customs can easily mess up things and lose a package.
and apparantly it cannot be insured unless the package allows minimum 4in. around all sides of the item. in this case, a package must be around 24in x 24in. x ? and the maximum package size for usps overseas is 24 x 24 x 18in.
it is not cheap to ship overseas. make sure it is trackable and insured!
the mpc itself is around 18in. x 18in. x 5in. and weighs around 24lbs.

Anyway, I'll look into that and the peeps I got it from was like a pawn shop or sumthing so they're like good sellers on ebay or sumthing so we'll see but I gotta get this MPC!!!

I bought 3 MP60s from around the New York area and 2 of em had to be serviced right on arrival.
But the shipment with USPS was alright,all boxes arrived between one and two weeks,so you couldn't go wrong with that company.

Don't buy any MPC from around the New York area,they are all way too used and messed up,mostly non or just half functioning...maybe it was just bad luck,but i recommend not buying such a machine

Have to agree with that statement.Bought my 2k from armens(located in ny) and that shit came jacked up. Case banged up pads all sticky like somebody dumped soda on them. Complete inside was sticky. Screen had lines and the f1-f6 button caved in.All not mentioned or pictured on ebay.

My 'perfect working order' MPC60II arrived with a dead disk drive, dead backlight and sticky pads.

The "New York Area" refers to New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. There are around 30 million people in the Tri-State area.

I did it couple weeks ago...
I had purchased off ebay mpc3k LE
shipment - 260 $ ( seller insisted to send it through UPS)
I tried to find other companys, ye... I found but you can safe 70-90 $, and then live in fear for next 2 weeks......
I spent 1500 $ for LE (plus Manselllabs 3.5 OS and SCSI drive)
it's not worth ..... you can loose your machine using dodgy couriers company...
another thing - UK custom and .....( thats really funny - I paid extra 35 quid for.....some clearence, VAT, or f*ck knows what else - I would rather call it ROBBERY, they charged me 35 quid with funny invoice explaining...
certainly on my sellers invoice was - SPARE ELECTRONIC PARTS - 50$..
plus at the end you must buy voltage transformer, which costs from 20-50 quid ( I honestly advice do not take a cheap one - remember MPC costs you a lot, don't want to burn it during a night ?


calculation - shipment, government fees, voltage conv. - 430 $ or 270£
then I thinh that's better to buy clear one from FORAT in USA or keep looking for one in Europe,
The thing is - you never be sure how's look your se. hand MPC until you open the box...
I am happpy, that mine got some minors issues....

Yo Zeus,whats your problem,it's just my experience that most of the machines I bought,especially MPC60s that were shipped from New York-mostly Brooklyn were **** up,buttons broke,weared out,backlight done,
I don't wanna talk about the Floppy drives and power supplies...all of the machines were stated as "fully functional".
It's just my experience and who cares if anybody wanna buy such a mpc,
it was just a little warning to be careful who you buy from.
