Optimus prime aka MPC1000

I posted this in another topic but, I want to change the color on my mpc1000 I'm tire of it looking like optimus prime, so wut do you guys recommend I want to do it myself

scrape off all the paint off the faceplate with rough grit sandpaper, then hit it with spraypaint and then sealant

forget lettering, you'll be faster without it

You dont need to sand it down all the way. It only needs to be rough so the paint will stick. Use primer then a couple coats of your color and then probably 3 thin layers of clear coat. Make sure its completely cured before using clear coat.

I would sand twice though, I started with 150 on mine and then went to 400 to get it smoother. You could go even higher than that but 400 was the finest grit they had at my Lowe's store

I use 250 and wet sand with 600.

koo koo, now when i get paid ima pick up all that and some vinals. How I wish I still live with my moms so much more money for me

(i'm sorry, mine still looks like optimus prime... so i can't start)

I wonder if the person who design the mpc1k had optimus prime in mind, I mean look at how close the colors are, they could have just put a tramsformer sign on the mpc

no need to paint this sucker now... just gotta install 30 odd foot of complicated
hydraulics and micro circuitry...
