^^^ if your pads are still intact, akai won't replace them. so you can either wait or just "upgrade".

yeah i dont think i'm buying akai again
only reason the 1000/2500 kicks ass is because of the code
the hardware is obtainable in other mediums
someday i may switch entirely to reaper but i doubt it
right now though i feel lucky. i have 2 enthusiastic coders working day and night on my 2 main pieces of equipment - jj is killing it on the jj os, and justin frankel is laying the DAW world to waste with Reaper
