akai must have put a lot of money in jj's pagedesign so it looks crappy and self-made. great job, design-company, it works perfectly!
and of course they had to pay someone to translate everything to jj-engrish. not sure if there is any money left to pay poor jj... ;)

u see - i told u, theyre experts at what they do Akai, everything on JJ's site looks so unlike an Akai site.........so there it is - undeniable proof that theyre secretly paying for it all.

It seems quite evident to me that JJ ain't workin for Akai.

(I love to question about the conspiracy theories but more at a certain level.. where for example the US government is ripping american people with a questionable war in Irak just to promote weapons industry, Oil lobby)

To me the question is more "Why Akai didn't try to contact JJ to engage him for MPC's OS development?"
Obviously this guy is more than capable and loves this work..what a valuable collaborator.
Maybe they tried but JJ ain't interested..I don't know, perhaps JJ actually works for Sony and makes big money.Who knows?
I don't worry for JJ anyway..

maybe he left and took the code with him

theres no way akai could organise this kind of 'spoofing' of the userbase, wayyyy too next level for them, look at their approach to customer service ffs

i wonder what the units shifted to date is for the 1k. i remember models like the tr808 and tr909 had like total 10-12,000 production runs, and i remember thinking wow thats not that many...

1k is much more ubiquitous, i'm guessing they may have been able to knock out 50k? but how many of those users are even aware you can update the akai os, let alone fux with a whole new schism

But as some already speculated...how do you know that JJ wasn't responsible in the first place for the minuscule coding? If so, what further comments do you have on this subject?
