1k vs. XLs on sequencing

ive read alot about the debate between the two machines and how the 1k is more useful when run in tandem with a computer. does this mean that the 1k is more dependent on a software sequencer? or is it something else the computer offers (editing, fx proccessing)?

It has nothing to do with the sequencer, and everything to do with editing, and FX. These are the things that the 1k is limited in. It has a great sequencer. You won't be disappointed with that.

same sequencer but slightly differant interface. I use the xl, i tried the 1k at guitar center. I would not trade the sequencers if i had a choice, really they are the same but slight menu changes really bugged me, basically more buttons to press, for Timing control. This should not matter though if you are startin with the 1k as your first piece, but comming from a 2xl, i would hate to have to learn the 1k and loose the relationship i have with the 2xl (its just so nice. And its amazing that 2 buttons can make such a huge differance, but for me it does.

i own a xt too. i like it . i was at guitar cent and i played with the 1k, i had i ill beat going in like 3 min for real. i like both

I tried the 1k at my people's crib the other day, I really liked it. It takes a little getting used to with the drum pads towards the middle and the record buttons in the far right corner. I didn't find the sequencer the same but bareley a noticeable difference... I think it operates the same but the different menus are not a hassle to me, keeping the timing correct on a F1 key wasnt' a big deal, I found it easy to work around.
