This will give you the option to increase the sensitivity if you need to for the new pads. The lower sensitivity values for JJOS (4.38 and below) should still correlate with 4.39.

I would still like to see a seperate pad fix JJOS altogether because 4.39's pad fix sensitivity still isn't as good as Akai 2.11. I'm not sure if both types of users can be pleased on one version.

I agree that the sensitivity could still be better. It's good enough now that I'm using the JJ OS again after having switched back to Akai for a bit but even at the highest sensitivity on 4.89 it still isn't nearly as good as the Akai 2.11. I can hit the higher velocities now but I still have to bang on the pads a bit harder than I'd like. I wonder if JJ could just add a few higher sensitivity settings to what has already been added in 4.89?

yea i agree, the pad sensitivity still feels off. I hope JJ compensates for this.

Im going to reinstall akai os 2.11 just to see what the sensitivity is like on it again.

still more? i don't understand. i'm getting full 127 vels EASY on 20.

for me, the pad sensitivity on JJ 4.89 doesnt compare to akai os 2.11

i have to press it really hard to get 127 right now, i messed around the amp thing in program mode - window on lvl 100
it made things a little better but i cant fade in/out a snare pete rock style like i can with akai 2.11

Nym, do u think new pads might need to be "broken in" i feel like i have to hit the pad right in the center til it makes that connect feeling with the sensor to get sound

im messing around on 2.11 right now and the overall feel is better, why doesnt' JJ just mimick akais sensitivity section of the program

I dunno Nym, you must really hit your pads hard. I'm also going back to 2.11. For now, the feel is more important to me than the features on JJ. I'm a PC chopper anyway.

nah man i just play them the way they are played. i doubt it's a "break in" thing.

the only thing i can think is that in my personal modding of my mpc, i have different dimensions than you do.

telll me, when you hit your pads, do they all wobble?
also, can you peel up one of the corner pads (1, 4, 13 or 16) and actually remove it from the frame (be careful!)

i'll reinstall os 2.11 (ugh, do i have to) to see the difference, but frankly i'm playing the pads better than i've ever played mpc pads before on the current os

also, jig, going back to 2.11 is so incredibly not advised due to the saving bugs that may or may not still exist. the second you see text that says "directory error" i want you to run the opposite direction back to jj and safety

my frame is pushed down a bit, bent like. check out my post in the 1000 forum.

After fully testing, I agree.

Man, I must be the only one. Don't see how cause the shit seemed simple and quick, but I think I **** something up in my MPC installing the pads. Wow, what a nightmare.

it'll probably take jj a couple tries to get it just right. most likely he does not have access to the akai 2.11 source code. it's possible that akai tweaked some other settings that jj isn't aware of.

it's also possible that the new akai os is using a different velocity curve than what jj has currently implemented (linear). it's a shame that jj removed those customizable velocity curves in the latest OS. i think tweaking those made a big difference in the pad response and it might have something to do with the different feel that some people are reporting here.

I DONT KNOW FELLAS......I GOT THE NEW PADS+4.89 AND THE SENSITIVITY IS GREAT! I EASILY GET 100% JUICE W/ AN EASY HIT

i easily get 127 aswell. no prob here.

for me, the machine is perfect now. in the future i would probably get a 2500 for more midi outs and analog outputs, but the one kay will with no doubt be in my possession. i'll never give it up now.

i know this is an old topic... and i've currently got JJ OS 4.94 installed like most of you... but for me with the new pads, it's also impossible to get the pads to go all the way up to 127 no matter what i set the pad sensitivity level at. i find myself playing with the FULL LEVEL button on all the time... i think this probably still needs to be fixed for the new pads. :?
