Hello all im new to this site and new to the world of the mpc.Just got a 1000 and i really like this lil thing.Ive installed the JJ 3.08 and the 128mb of Ram.I also have the program pad 187 so its been easy to take some of my samples and make kits. Ive figured out most of the functions and i made a few tracks. My question is what is the best way to save a complete session or project without saving the programs( especially the samples) more then once. I wont really be leaving anything on the flash card ill be transferring everything to the mac.

thanx in advance

saving everything all over again to it's own folder each time you make something is actually the best way. that way there's never any confusion within the machine as to which sounds to look for and where, they will load perfectly every time.

the nice thing about the ASR is that when you had your samples split over multiple floppies it would say 'Please insert _____ disk' when it needed them.

Since the 1000 doesn't really use disks, it's best to keep every beat and all of it's samples in their own folder. It's the simplest way to keep everything organized. Plus, since it's easy to transfer between the MPC and a computer, storage space isn't really an issue anyhow.

true..true...so whats the main advantage of getting the internal hdd? is it just for say.. if you dont save stuff to the pc? if i load just a sequence or project up will the 1000 not look for the programs on the drive? i assume from your answer to my previous question this is a "No" but i just wanted to make sure before i ordered this drive and harness.

nah, the hard drive works just like the CF card does, only with more space

unless something has changed, i don't think you can save with 3.08.
