So.....
After getting used to the MPC2500, I started making beats with it and the Motif. I would switch the Program track to OFF so the sounds on the 2500 wouldn't play as I tapped the pads to get the sounds from the Motif.....BUT, On the 3000, I see that I don't have to keep the Track as DRUM to tap out sounds from the Motif and therefore the 3000 sounds are playing and recording in the sequence.
When I set the 3000 to MIDI on a TRACK I can hear any sounds from the MOTIF when I tap the pads but I can switch the MIDI Programs to get different sounds.

Can some help Me out to figure how I can tap out a beat on The 3000 while having the drums not be on the pads so I can play the Motif sounds and be able to change the Program Sound of the Motif In The 3000.....

(It's a couple of years since I used My 3000, I will admit.....Been on the 2500 & SP1200)

Thank You All Very Much
Peace And Blessings

You can do one of two things:

1. Create a blank program, making sure your pads are in what's called "chromatic" order. You'll still need to leave the track set to 'DRUM' but you'll be triggering the sounds of your Motif.

2. Simply leave the track set to 'DRUM'. You will hear your drum sounds, but after you've finished recording, you will only hear the Motif sounds.

I had the same problem when I went from the 2kxl to the 3000. Try it out.

Peace,

Thanks Man.....The thing I notice also though is that when I change the program on the track to browse through the Motif Sounds on let's say TRACK 2, The Drums from the MPC that I programmed disappear, Perhaps because It's figuring I'm changing the Program of the Sequence and not the sound from the Motif?????
Man, It's much more efficient on the 2500

So, Would I have to tell this thing to play multiple Programs at a time?
And If So How To?

Man, Oh Man...

Thank You Very Much Again

Unlike the 2500, The 3k can only play one program at a time.
