i make a sequence in the mpc, i play melodies on my keyboard that's midi up to the mpc, it plays fine so i record it into the mpc while it plays back solo, maybe an 8 bar melody

then i save that sample of the key melody and put it on a pad

play it in a sequence on a one shot pad

problem is, after the first bar when the sequence is playing, it cuts off at bar 2

no if i stop the seq., and just hit the pad, it plays all the way thru fine, so i recorded it right

tried rerecording a few different times

any long sample i add in it does this to it on the playback

i turned the sample to mono and 12bit and its on one shot, tried poly and mono and it still does it

have you checked the polyphony meter when you play all together? if you have just for a second a polyphony of more than 32, then your long sample stops and wont restart. Of course when it plays SOLO it goes through all the way.
Mind that 32 poly is reached easier than you would think.

Is there a polyphony priority setting in JJ? if there's not I smell a valid request here.

why would it the poly matter?

its a recorded sample of me playin keys, it recorded fine

it's just like if i took the drum loop from impeach the president and hit its pad on the sequence at the 1

then it would just play out until the end of 4 bars and restart at the 1 on the sequence

but picture if u had the impeach the president loop on a pad and you hit it and instead of playing the full 4 bars it just cut off after 1 or 2

just look at the polyphony meter. in literally 100% of cases where people ask a question about samples dropping out, it's them misusing their polyphony.

sounds like you found it, but it's in mode/pad 10 i think (can't remember always off the top of the head)

a few tips, in really shorthand

1 - do stereo files need to be stereo
2 - do you have overlapping samples, if so do they need to be overlapping

Funny! I reported a very similar bug to JJ but I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with me reaching max polyphony cause it happens to me when I'm recording the very first seq, the very first take, with only 1 midi track and 1 patch/program off of my midi keyboard. And someone else on the forum was having the exact same problem.
