Screen acting funny since install of pads

Anyone encounter this, maybe I need to take it apart again but my screen is acting crazy since I put the new pads in. It looks fine on boot up when I loaded the new os, the screen is light and lines are shooting across it. Figured if it was something actually wrong with the screen, it would do this on the boot up as well. Any ideas?

Yeah, so I know it the new pads. I doubt I **** up on the install althought that can be a possibility. I plug in the circuit board from the bottom, the screen starts acting crazy. I take it out and plug in the old pads screen goes back to normal and I can bang on shit. Anyone ever deal with MPCstuff.com? I guess I gotta call the tommorrow for some info. What a pain in the ass.

I have dealt with MPCSTUFF, great site. High price on some things, but all in all a great site to work with.

I got my new pads when they first came out and had the exact same problem. I too ordered it from MPCSTUFF.COM and they were more than happy to help me with the problem. Mike from mpcstuff told me that a few others had the screen issue, which he suspected was because of a missing or malfunctioned part. I sent my board back and they sent me a new one right away, but I don't think they got to the root of the problem last I heard. Either way, I am grateful to the guys at mpcstuff for not making me suffer for too long.

Well, I just spoke with Mike and this is what he said. Basically there is a diode on the PCB which looks like it was just tossed in there after production. Maybe AKAI had yet another design flaw and this was placed there as a fix. If you had a chance to look at yours you can see that they all basically look like some shit tossed on there with a second rate soldering job.

On a positive note, Mike at mpcstuff.com is a stand up guy and is mailing me one out. I highly recommend this site. Things go wrong, but good companys handle it professionally. AKAI needs to take note.

FWIW, I've gotten phenomenal support from VST for both MPCs and my DPS24. They know their stuff.

it's funny, i noticed that shaky little diode too (capacitor? i don't know what it is). mine was bent all funny but i didn't have screen issues.

if you don't want to wait, just desolder the thing and pop it right back in...
