Thought it would be nice to hear people's top five, here's mine, try and keep it to the one's that you actually own, that should make choosing easier (KUDU, Salvation etc. included).

In no particular order:

Image
Antonio Carlos Jobim 'Stone Flower' CTI - 6002

Image
George Benson 'White Rabbit' CTI - 6015

Image
Idris Muhammad 'Power Of Soul' KU - 17

Image
Hank Crawford 'Help Me Make It Through The Night' KU - 06

Image
Johnny 'Hammond' Smith 'Gambler's Life' Sal- 702

And just for fun the absolute worst CTI record I own, and would highly advise against purchasing, dun, Dun, DUN:

Just curious if you have Laws 'Afro Classic' too, and still picked the 'Rite of Spring.' I don't have Rite of Spring so I'd be curious to know if it's better in your opinion...

yeah - I got both.
Afro classic is nice too,
but there is an ill extra p loop on the rite of spring that I dig...
It's kinda a weird record - hubert does re-interpretations of classical joints on it...

Whats the deal with akai pads anyway? Never hear probs about the ones on the 60 3k 2kclassic and xlclassics.

Something Like That, it seems that all pads on every mpc ever made were made by the same company EXCEPT when Akai designed the MPC1000 they decided instead of using pad sheets made my this company they would use a new design of their own making... at any rate these Akai designed mpc1000 pads seem to be going dead left and right and they're trying to charge people for a "upgrade", which of course are the original pad design made by the original manufacturer, ugh. weak huh? :(

It stands for Creed Taylor International. It's a record label that produced albums its hey day from about 70-79 I'll say. A lot of people sample the CTI records, and for good reason. It's a jazz focused label.

And that's a big 10-4 on BJ-1, don't know how I left that out. Monster. Confirmed.
