I am thinking of making all brushed and or polished aluminum casings for the 1000, and wondering how many people would be interested. They would be between 75-150. (I know ya'll will/have dropped that amount on the new pads for your MPC) Lettering would be etched and lazer cut on, and possibly a few etched designs would be available. Im trying to see how feasible this might be, and going to check out the looks, after I get mine back from VST for repair *Damn Akai*, Im also wondering a rough estimate of how many units of the 1000 have actually been sold. Any help or thoughts would be sweet. Thanks.

HERE IS PROTOTYPE (note with or without black paint in etched function buttons)

Like polished aluminum. Here I made a quick picture. Was taking to long to do all detailed work, but you will get an idea. It can be polished like rims, or brushed like this. It can also be either or with a design etched on it as well. Nym, funny thing i somehow knew you would be first to get on. Im glad the all knowing guru is always on hand for new posts.

i think this has the potential to look incredible, but i would be a little worried about the visibility of the small etched text. i'm definitely interested but i would need to see some pics of the final result before i made up my mind.

Here it is with etched text painted. it would be tough with no paint, but highly visible it it came with black paint or rubber inside etchings

this would be pretty badass
maybe hard to get the dimensions right but i don't know much about that stuff.

i'd really love to be able to make my own text but i don't know if that's possible.

hahah i'm not familiar enough with the looks of behringer products to care much...

aluminum doesn't rust though which is good. it'll deal with scratches and wear better as well

however it will dent easier.

yea if you look at their whole line they all have the brushed aluminum cases. It makes it difficult to read and the aluminum is kinda soft. You would have to make sure the right guage of aluminum is used so it doesnt warp. Now polished....ooooh sex!

Yeah, my best friend owns a machine shop currently makeing aftermarket accesories for paintball guns so his equipment has to be percise. He would make everything perfectly i know, and once the program was made, the slick straight polished aluminum and the brushed aluminum would be offered. I will ask about personalized etchings (i.e. name would be no problem but a design or a tag might be a little trickier) I let yall know when I get an estimate back. EEEEEe
