mp2000xl power supply

Does the 2000xl have a variable power supply (110-240v 50-60hz) or do you need a local model?

u need to get a transformer bro. they generally cost about 100NZCD mine cost 90. drop into your local electronics store, right down the conversion necessary or bring your mp in.

I got the old beige MPC2000XL and it is dual voltage.
I bought it when I lived in Cali in 2000 and now I've been using it here in England with no problems and no step down transformer.
I think all the newer MPC's are dual voltage but I could be wrong.

so it wont go boom when you plug it in?

i was told i needed a transformer because it doesnt have a switch on the back of it to change between voltage.

depending on what country you got it from, considering they all come from japan and are build their, means youll need a transformer for living in australia.


IF it had the switch on the back to change between voltage it would be that simple. but considering it doesnt the standard voltage is not correct.

take it to your electronics store to be certain.

It adjusts itself to the voltage automatically.

thanks for the info, I've had some power supply issues before (blew up the wall wart adapter on my micron synth!). this is much more reassuring!
