Previewing samples

Is there a way to preview your samples in "one shot" mode? as opposed to holding down the pad to play the sample through. I know you can achieve this by pressing play in preview mode, but i am wondering if it is possible using the pads. I'm scared of wearing my play button out.

mbe u just go to the sample list, and use the jogwheel to select any of your samples, and use the F button for sample 'play'.

but i guess that wouldnt be good to check your end points etc.

you won't wear your play-button out...

Not that I know of. I mean, worst come to worst, get a nice size paperweight and put it on a pad and just scroll the Data wheel through your samples.
