2 get a loud sample but wid as liitle noise as possible , if ur sampling from vinyl , do ya turn ya mixer up and ur rec gain down or the other way round?

get the signal from the deck to the mixer as louud as poss with no noise then, use the hot signal into the mpc and trun the mpc rec gain down until it stops distorting or up to just below the distortion point.....

To turn the master volume on the Mpc as far down as possible as it creates extra noise when recording a sample.

master volume has nothing to do with it, were talking the rec level or gain- this can be set independantly, the master control really is for monitoring when you are sampling- by all means turn it all the way up but be sure to turn your mixer inputs down so you don't fry your ears....

believe what you will, but after I turned the master down, my samples had less noise than before.

no worries- i don't disbelieve you at all.... i never need to touch my master volume- espesh when sampling- only the rec gain and the overall out gain...if need be....

you could essentially turn it all the way down and it wont affect the sampling level....

The master volume and record gain are two seperate amps inside the unit. The master volume has absolutely no effect on recording. Unless you got a f'ed up MPC!!!

yeah my guess is that boogie man had noise on his samples and that was amplified when the master volume was turned up...
