.WAV file conversion so MPC can use it

I have a series of Wave Sound files that I was trying to transfer to the MPC500 through the USB. I had created the folders for the samples on the computer (windows explorer), then I copied each group of samples into their resepective folders. When I got back on the MPC, 1/2 the sounds were all distorted, like a loud HISS sound was the only thing I heard. Yeah, I renamed the files, but I didn't change their extension. I checked them out, some are PCM format, some Ogg Vorbis (Mode 2), others are Ogg Vorbis (Mode 1). Anyone know a way or program that can convert these to a MPC500 usable format???
