how do i slice sounds and have them play like dilla or primo

i really need help,had the mpc2000xl for a while now and i have still not gottin this down yet.anyone know what im talkin bout.[/b]

alot of practice. its all about how you set the zones. you have to really listen and get the timing right.

i mean, whats the problem? all you said really was that you've been at it for a while and you cant get the hang of it....what dont you get? shoot me some more info and we can start there....

Choosing the right samples to chop is a must.

You have to make sure you chop them correctly (either manually or using the zone/slice function)

And then you need to do something creative and good with the chops.

There isn't a methodical way like do this this and that and you have a preemo/dilla/alchemist/whoever beat...

Experiment is the key...Seek and you will find

what i dont get is how to make samples play longer then what they realy are.is timestretch the answer for all my problems.

well timestrech if you dont wanna change the pitch other wise just change the pitch and the sample will slow down or speed up depending on your change. word
