help with fx settings

hi everyone .....

i was wonder if people could drop sum of the settings they use for the mpc1k's fxs .....reverb, 4 band, pitch, tremelo,eq, compression etc

i found a good compression setting for drums i will share


COMPRESSION 4 DRUMS :


Threshold: -10db to -15db
Ratio: 6:1 to 8:1
Attack: 3ms
decay: 10ms
Gain: +5db to +7db




please sumone drop me sum good reverb settings, etc

Difficult question to answer bro.. depends on what tune ur makin... the only setting id use throughout is compression and i dont stick to any type of norm with that... i just play around..

but i did recall a good little compression tutorial with some helpful figures by noviss...

lol.. just noticed u copied that from the tutorial lol....

i usually don't use anything definate, or regularly. at most i use the mixer to assign FX to whatever sound i want it to go to, usually non-percussion, so that i can manually change the setting/intensity of the effect while the sequence is playing. i'd imagine it would be interesting to play around with during a live set because you'd be always changing the sound and it wouldn't be so monotonous.

you dont have to know these things, you should just try until it sounds cool

First you need to have some basic knowledge about effects and mastring, and then you can start tweaking it so it sounds "cool" to you. The reason is simple: Let's say you play with the compression and it sounds "cool" to you on your monitors or whatever you use. The next day you try to lissen to your track in your car, and even if you have a good sound system, you track dosn't sound as "cool" as before. That is because there is more to it then just making it sound "cool" to your ears, there are certains rules to follow.

good starting points for sure but every sound you put through a compressor will have different dynamics. There is no quick fix setting
