BOOM!!!
now that's what i'm talking about! a whole new JJ OS optimized for different needs! and we heard it straight from the horses mouth!
i got a response from JJ a couple weeks ago. i had made a request to increase the range of tempo change via the q-link sliders ( to be able to go from 0% to 400% ). JJ replied the standard response that there was no room for new features, but he wanted to know more about why i wanted that feature 'for the future'. when i heard that, i had the feeling he was working on something new & this confirms it.
you can tell by this forum that there are 2 classes of MPC user: studio users & live users (and of course some people do both). so far the akai & JJ OS has been mostly geared towards studio use. it seems the majority of people use it that way. i personally am much more of a live user. i want to be able to jam on the MPC like an instrument and have more freedom to improvise things with it. that means more pad control, more slider control, more fx, more abilities to transform a sample in realtime, etc. i'm hoping that this new OS is more geared for live use.
