Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

So I have an MPC2000 XL. Had it for years. Never a problem until last night when making some beats. I have a ZIP 250 and CD-ROM hooked up SCSI. I loaded .wav files from disks with no problem. In the middle of session, I went to load a new sound and got the message "Wait... No SCSI Device!!) How does it just lose connection?

Now when I turn off and on it doesn't recognize my SCSI at all still given me the same message.

Did the SCSI port go bad?

Help...

Is it saying no SCSI Device when you put a Zip in or when you just turn the MP on cause those 2 different situations?

I have the same problem. I think its my floppy drive. When i try rotating the jog wheel right or left to select a device it gives me the old WAIT..... and doesnt do anything. Super frusturating. Does any one know what to do. I am looking for a flash drive instead of floppy.

So it turns out that it was the daisy chain of CD-ROM to Zip Drive. Looks like might have to replace zip drive. At least its not the MPC port or SCSI cord. Thanks!
