well I tried 3k to record samples thru digi in,
funny thing I've noticed that signal is weak, below 12dB

Do you have a similar experiences ???

Or maybe I am don't understand or doin' something wrong ???

thanx

Sounds more like the source device is not outputting a full level digital signal.

The MPC3000 doesn't attenuate nor offer attenuation of the SPDIF input so it is possible that your source device is not outputting a full scale signal. ( ( or the content being played by your source device is not allowing the device to reach a full scale output )

Note there a lot of commercial CD's from particular vintages that are cut at too low a level also and these output very low levels.

What is your source device ? What is the content you are playing from the source device ?

hey rohan:)

thanx for response.
massive respect man,
great work and knowledge...

i tried sample out from mpc1k digi to digi in 3k. possibly 1k got digital out plugged somehow into master out knob....
i have to check it
music- just tweaked samples:)
PS. i use 1k for sampling and editing, since i 've found that there's no sonic differences between 3k and 1k at all.............
so i use jj os and 1k to sample and edit and tweak
and 3k - how supposed to be - sequencer and p a d s... drumzzz short samples, rerecorded thru 1k.

thanx for help

yes i did:)

a bit dissapointed...
i believed that 3k MUST be better sounding...
i was wrong, or i am deaf:)
my sound setup is quite decent, so possible if you got monitors and amplifier and cables etc... for more than a 2 k $ - you will find it .(honestly- i doubt)

but 3000 is still lovelly machine though

good nite

well if your monitoring system is the nuts you should be able to hear a massive difference.
