Starting off....with what?

When is The Best age to start Producing and what sampler/drum machine
is the best one to start off with? Which equipment is the best value for money? Please reply!

(go ahead and suggest a book for petes sake!)

Whatever age you wanna get into music production at is a good age.

there are so many machines and they basically do all the same shit. maby the 1000 would be best.

Should I have a Keyboared or turntables too?

Had you started off with this (little einstein composer), by now you would be way ahead of the pack.

I guess I'm not ahead of the pack........I would like to use turntables.
Are there any Brands that stand out?

do some research man. do you wana scratch on your turntables or just sample? do you know the difference between belt drive and direct drive?

numark tt500 is pretty good ifyou wana scratch. you need some needles too..

you can also get sounds off of cd's.

A direct Drive is a type of turntable in which the motor is under the center of the platter and is connected to it (directly)


A Belt Drive has the motor under the side of the platter and it is connected
by an elastometric (belt)

Where is the best place to get an MPC? I cant believe the prices at some of these sites.....

do us all a favor, and d/l fruity loops and/or reason 1st, so u can get an idea of the processes of music production, otherwise ur gonna be on these forums asking stupid questions forever.
anything the mpc can do, u can do with fruity loops or reason.
im not tryin to sound like an assshole, but u dont seem to have any idea how this stuff works, so start off with some of the basic stuff first, then if u still think u need an mpc, u'll already have the knowledge of some of these programs, which will act as a solid foundation.

Okay, But downloadin Protools or Reason isnt going to tell me where to
get an MPC at a cheap price. Thats not a stupid question.

www.tweakheadz.com great site and all the info in the guide is FREE. U have a ton to learn and thats a great place to start before making any costly investments.
