simple midi keyboard

simple midi keyboard and my mpc 1000

I want to trigger the sounds already in my mpc with the midi keys

how is this done ive looked every where the midi keyboard is a AXIOM 25 thanks.

I started by mapping my mpc correctly with the settings from here.

i read the midi page ...and it makes sence

but i am still having sum trouble

i need to connect a midi keyboard to the mpc 1000 and control the sounds already in the mpc .......while they record in the mpc ...

it's in the manual

its in the manual but my understanding ...is that the iformation that is in the manual is for a keyboard with a sound modual....


all i have is a stand alone midi key board the sounds i want are already in side of my mpc 1000... pianos strings etc

i plugged my midi key board (axiom 25) in to the midi in of my mpc and still it wont play any sounds

what connections did you make?

i have the midi out from keyboard to the midi in of mpc 1000

question do i need a sound card to make this happen or can i just directly plug in my midi keys

because my currewnt sound card is not working.. tghanks
