MPC 2000XL MIDI with Triton

What up! I have a MPC 2000XL and a KORG Triton. I'm trying to get my Triton sounds to record into the MPC through MIDI. I can see the signal coming in on the MIDI input monitor screen but I don't hear the sound. Anybody have any answers.

damn homie.......where is the mixer??>.....M.I.D.I. does not transmit audio.......

That solves the problem then......a brotha like me was going to make that sh*t work! Still trying to learn this whole MIDI thangggg.
