Tracking into Protools

I mean I have all my cables and thing connected and my midi I have the 8 out on my mpc that can see what im saying is I dont have anything in the 8 outs I never used them but I have stero outs and record in connected to my fantom x6 and I would just like to sync the tracks all at once into protools

The popping between duplicates could be fixzed with a crossfade in PT...

still having problems is there another way?????????

If you've got the loop tight in the mpc and is hitting weird in PT, it's how you're butting it up. Are you duplicating it in PT by using apple+D, or are you copying, and then pasting at the end? IF you are, you need to zoom in and nudge it to where it's right where you need it...

Im just copying and pasteing at the end and it jumps in a little off

you should use the duplicate feature. select what you want to copy and instead of copying it, duplicate it. It will add the same bit at the very end of the first one for you...easy.

Try setting the tempo in PT to the same tempo in the MPC. That should work

I tried that but it makes a pop when the duplicate comes in and u still could hear the split

You may need to set the loop at the 1.

I am running a PC, and for the life of me, cannot get my midi to start fast enough... 2 gigs of ram, the extra bar thing, everything. So when I track in my beats, I always have that one extra step of chopping all of my tracks (simultaneously) at the 1st bar, then dragging them to the 1 on pt grid. It is perfectly time matched to the grid still, but since there was latency issues, the recording is late, and requires moving back to where it should be.

If anyone got around this, or knows what the dilly is, hit me up...

If you are not in 'grid' mode, and not chopped exactly to the grid, you will not be exactly 8 bars, therefore, duplicate won't do its thing.

If you aren't looking at your wavforms to make sure they are on the one, (or your transport numbers) then do so, and edit themcorrectly, then line them up with the grid in PT.

Also, Look for "loop playback" in your menus, and highlight the region you are trying to edit ... (your friendly lightning bolt cursor)... on the top ruler area ...(in grid mode-bars and beats)..., and press play (your play button should now have a hoola hoop arrow), if it don't sound right, then your sheeiit ain't straight jack. Move it.

If lining up the bar 1 of the wavform, with bar 1 of the beat, does not loop EXACTLY for the 8 bar region (?or whatever), then you ain't time clocked anyway.

exactly this just sound like the latency is not correct and your editing is off. I record all my tracks in. set the tempo. the slice the beginging and line the up in grid mode it is simple unless I have a fast computer that avoids latency in the studio
