Question about 16 levels. Help me out a lil.

Whatz good forum fam? I have a quick question about the 16 levels settings. When you go into 16 levels and set it to tune, the "Original Key Pad:" numbers section appears. What does setting this number do? I have played with it, but have not been able to get a clear understanding of what it does excaclty. I susepect that is varies the tunning of the sample that is being "16 leveled". If anybody can kick a lil knowledge, please do.
