Why Is This Happening?

For some reason my sample is getting cut off by a sample in a different program. My bass kicks are cutting off my lead sample at the eighth bar of my sequence. If I mute my drums, the sample plays all the way through. When the drums are playing, my sample gets cutoff. Keep in mind that I have two separate programs. Any one know how to fix this? It seems like an OS bug.

maybe you're reaching the maximum 32 voices?

how many samples do you have playing at that time? if all your samples are stereo, then you can only have 16 play at once (there's a maximum of 32 voices that can be played at any single time, and a single stereo sample takes up 2 of them). if a 17th stereo sample is played, one of the previous 16 will be sacrificed.

by the way, it would be helpful if you made the subject of your post more relevant to your question... that's actually why they call it the subject.

that reaching the 32 voice limit for sure. sometimes it bugs me, though another time, i made a beat and when sequencing the whole song together i got some nice sample cutouts at provocative times. sometimes you can make the limit for for you instead of against you. otherwise i'd say convert some stuff to mono, many times you won't notice the difference.

JJ OS is perefect for this problem cause it lets you monitor how many voices you're using while playing back the tune. then it easily converts any sample from stereo to mono so you don't lose any of the music, you just consolidate it when neccesary. st>mono is something so incredibly basic i still can't believe akai couldn't include it.

im having the same problem im only playing two samples. a drum loop and and a vocal sample. i have the drum looping going for 2 bars. when i try and play the sample into the sequence the drums cut off. i cant get them to play at the same time. the vocal sample plays for half a bar and the drums get cut off. then the drums come back in. i cant get the sample to play at all with the drums. none of the sample are sampled in stereo. what is going on here? i need some help. i feel like just retruning this thing and going back to my 2000clasic.

you know how pads can be changed from poly to mono? programs can be set to mono as well, and this causes every pad to cut off all the others.

go into program mode, hit the params soft key and it's on the top right of the screen. i believe it's called "Play" and it can be either poly or mono. change it to poly.
