so i was thinking about buyin the mpc-500 bible but it says for use with os 1.3 or greater, and im still running the original os and i dont want to upgrade becuase the original works great for me and i scared that if i upgrade it might make my mpc buggy like other peoples.

do you guys think the book would still be compatible with the orignal akai os or would i not be able to do some stuff with it if i didnt upgrade the os?

thanks in advance!

the later OS's have less buggs then the 1.00 version.

I you there are some Improvements that needed to be done on the Operative system, byt it's not that my mpc500 freezes everytime I run it.

If you know wich functions are known to make the mpc freeze ypu usually save your stuff before doing that

i've recently been amused that akai releases os's in the X.XX fashion
because when was the last time they broke 2.xx?
the infrequency of OS releases seems to logically point to them using an illusion of progress and referring to each os update as another single digit update, ie 1, 2, 3...

they really need to put more money into their coding. rumor has it that they pay their programmers in mcdonald's happy meals.

oh 1.13 not 1.3. when you said 1.3 i thought you meant 1.3.

so the new OS's are pretty much just improvements? not new features? so theoretically, it would be fine to use the mpc-500 bible if i was still running the original os or any other one lower than 1.13 for that matter?

you should upgrade to 1.13 for multiple mute groups and other bug fixes. when i first got the 500 i didn't want to upgrade either until i realized you're quite limited by having only one mute group

It's about time they released a new OS for the MPC500. Been quite some time since 1.13 was released.
