The mpc 2000 classic. is the "illmatic" of the mpc's. its not exactlly old school but not really new school.kind of in between so you still have to work with the sounds, filters, features you got.but some new school features

your a very honest man, honest with yourself and fellow forum members. Most people who have touched any of these machines would never admit the 1000 is their favorite. I could definantly see the advantage of the 1000 over these machines though

The 2k classic is about the same as what cassettes mean to the audio industry...useful, but played out.

I imagine 2k classic would make a really good midi pad controller in every home studio.

is classic just meaning piece of shit that is the worst mpc? **** just get an mpc2kxl, same shit only better.

and even then the 2k made rogerlinn sad with how shitty of quality it was.

3k is def. the best mpc in terms of sound. i think for hip hop the 3000 cannot be beat if you like the hi fi sound... mpc3000+pro toolz all u need if you make hip hop... no?!

The 3000 is way over rated and it really gets to me. Seriously this MPC is nothing special. Just another good sounding sampler from 1994 with pads and a sequencer.

When are people going to learn. Stop judging by things you have read from interviews or heard from friends or seen on hiphop videos. Go use it and see and listen for yourself. It's nothing special.

Have you actually sat down with a 3000 (non LE or LE), 2000 XL and a 4000 in the same room? The 3000 will leave you with a Big ?

I have used a good condition 3000 LE a couple of years back on 2005, and the sound was the reason for my dislike. At the time, running through a basic mackie 1402 into motu hd192 interface into Logic - it sounded so dull, and lacked stereo dimension. My 4000 just brings a smile when it comes to stereo seperation, and clarity of drums.

I could take my XL with my favourite pre and eq, and the 3000 would sound like a musical christmas card (and just as thin) next to it.

Way over rated IMHO.

the best sounding samplers of all time are the roland sp404, mpc2000xl, mpc1000, and casio sk-1. the reason they sound the best is because i own them and I have developed an unnatural bond with them.

oh yeah, the br600 is by far the best sounding track recorder. I own that too.

Ive owned almost all the mpc's and im here to tell you that the 3000 is overhyped. Only gritty a$$ sounding MPC is the 60, thats why I always will keep mine as a secrect weapon, i love that thing. 3000 just got so hyped because it was still a roger linn & most of our favorite classics came from that box...as far as audio though its not much diff then 2000's series. ya dig.

If that's the case then everything is overhyped. When you love anything, its the best to you. Opinions and facts aren't the same.I happen to like the 3k more than the others. The 4k is a monster too.
