One thing that i find is missing from MPCs, and i write it here as a feature request, is being able to send midi data to the mpc, and the mpc record this data to different tracks, based on their midi channel setting. What i actually mean is to be able to use the mpc from a sequencer multitimbrally.

At the moment all midi data that arrives to the mpc ins is directed to the selected track at the time -- which sucks!

What makes you think so - I can't see that from the preview screenshots?

It looks like in the lower right corner that GPE screen where it has "sample 1" and then "chop 1, chop 2", then you just set the in-out points of the chops, and the mpc just plays that section, so its all the same sample, just programmed to play different parts of it. Similar to the ASR-X, ASR-10

If this ends up like Akai 2.1 (still having bugs in your old OS and being forced to spend money to get rid of them), I'm gonna be pissed.

well, well,well.....

honestly that implementation says - goodbye to my ol' s1100......

JJ is a man

I don't mind paying, I just wan't a clear list of what all will be included in the upgrade. Also, does this mean that there will be no more upgrades to jj OS ver. 1? Can't wait to check it out! I love JJ...

The older mpc's have a 'record 16 channels' option where every channel is kept separate.

crossfade loops
and more than one loop in sample, like s1100 series

different bandwith of a samples will be nice;)

Didn't know about this, thanks. I believe this could be real useful, and allow the MPC to integrate fully in a studio.

asdr, badass
i cannot wait. very excited.

i'd known a little about this before, nothing feature wise, but that there was a possibility of overcoming the 896 kb limit. jj's been working on OS2 for a while now. OS2 is a whole new terrain, as i think the new OS cap is something like 1.5 megabytes OR 5 megabytes, i forget which - i think it's 1.5. either way, that's a lot of space.

so let's make a semicohesive new feature list that's going to be in it based on this graphic:

(4. A function is added also even after a download start.)

grid preview on MAIN
AUDIOtrack preview on MAIN
new program: DRUM or INST (don't know the difference yet)
ASDR envelopes (gonna be so nice for my current midi grid - note on - duration workflow)
aftertouch (?? don't know very much about that, someone please explain)
keygroups???? look at the middle column of pics, 3 down (low/high)
non destructive, in-program chopping

so sick.

This is really great!!!

But in a way this sucks...
I was planing on selling my used 1000 and buy a brand new with the pads in... but now i think i just buy those pads... having to buy the jj twice again...
nah i just stick to this machine

last, i'm going to preemptively defend the new charge for jjos2 against all challengers for the following reasons

1 - 30 bucks for the first one was a solid steal considering the ride we had on it.

2 - allowing the os to pass 896 kb was NO EASY JOB.

3 - additional coding after the limit of 896 kb is all 100% unexpected and joyous

4 - ASD fckin' R!!!!!!!

5 - the new price is also a solid steal!!!
