q-link?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the Q-link affect just one track?

make sure that the program or pad u assign the qlink to isnt playin palying on more than one track .this may mean copying/changing qlink assignments samples ,programs and tracks depending on how u use ya 4k.

I'm sort of confused by your response reveal. I just want to have the q-link fader affect the velocity of one track, without affecting the other tracks on the sequence. I assume it is possible, but I can't figure out how to do it. Any ideas?

Can't you just assign the Qlink to one pad and have the sample on that pad on one track by itself so it doesn't affect the others?

Yep, you could do that, but I want it to affect more than one sample. If it could somehow just affect a track....

It's just a q-link set-up. Choose what Knob or slider you want to use. Choose the "part" you want to modulate, chose how you want to modulate it (amplitude, pitch...) turn that q-link knob or slider on(led)...be on that track, hit over-dub/record and record the movements...

you can modulate many things (amplitude, pan, cutoff, ...) in the 4k but i don't think that the 4k allows you to modulate velocity since its not icluded as modulation destination! if i m wrong here please someone correct me!

if you want to modulate other things there are several ways!

you can modulate for example a whole track! assign this track its own part, go to qlink setup page select the part to which the program is assigned, the modulation destination (pan, cutoff, ...) and play or record it, ...

if you want to modulate one sound out of your drumprogram (for example only the snare) use pad control (selectable under qlink setup, receive page!)

Alright I think I can figure out a way to do it now, but it's all about assigning whatever samples I want the q-link velocity to affect to their own part. I normally don't mess with parts, but I guess Ill give it a shot.

I brought this one back too because the effects and new functions of the OS1.51s should work well with Q-link which is a monster tool. Also if I `m correct Tilt velocity, Zone select, and amplitude are destination parameters in the modulation destination. If you set the destination source as EXT 1 thru 8 you can control these parameters through Q link for the part. And if you use the velocity para in the Main page you can affect the velocity of all the notes on one track. Have fun with the new O.S
