Loops aint tight!

ive tried many methods and i feel the mpc isnt as tight as some samplers when it come to looping samples in a sequence. the minute diference start to stack up.

perhaps you aren't looping the right way. i had problems with looping on the mpc before but then someone sat me down and dropped knowledge on me...

1) make your loops "note off" poly (via program window).
2) go into step edit (main screen).
3) place loop at start of bar (hit loop pad).
4) adjust decay value as needed.

should loop perrrrfffect bro. the best reason for doing it this method is that you already know it started at the first bar.. now you just need to extend it (with decay value in stepedit) to the last bar by slow or speeding up the bpm until it returns to bar 1 without a glitch. if you editing is on point you should be fine.

leaving a bit of extra room at the end of a loop, instead of editing very tight, helps out alot when making the loops fit snugg.

maybe its just the timing of the loops im using. ive exported unsliced loops from recycle. they loop fine. . well most of them, they just start to loose sync further with each bar. i guess ill just have to play around till i get it right.

that was one of the most direct and intuitive expalinations on loop editing ive heard. good stuff^^^^^^^^

Good advice. Usually what I do though, is set the sample to mono and play the pad on the first tick, and go into step edit to make sure it starts where I want it to (some loops you might not want to start at the 1... for some strange reason), and if it finishes early or late in my sequence I adjust the sequence tempo and tuning in the program screen till I get a seamless loop. Also, if you aren't working with a 4/4 loop it will probably never loop properly if you have your sequence set to 4/4... you need to get your timing right. Not every sample is 4/4.

yeh i think it my slices coming from recycle. this is looping alot better now that i havent been playing around with the slices. i think i was gradually ruinging the timing of the loops before i exported them.
