Live album = sweet scratch/vocal samples

I'm pretty new to this scratch dj stuff, but anway I just got this jazz record called shearing on stage - live jazz concert by the george shearing quintet and its got some really awesome vocal samples when he talks between tunes.

So everyone, grab those live records you see in the $1 box!

Some of the stuff would be really fun to scratch in a live set- "before we go on, I would like to introduce each member of the quintet. On drums... etc"

As an aside, what is one of your favourite vocal snippets to scratch that isn't just on a scratch record?

I like some of the stuff on rick wakeman's "journey to the centre of the earth"

ima have to listen to my live charlie parker tribute im sure theres some great stuff on it

i dont buy live albums much, they just dont catch my attention. i have some but i ,i pass on them now.

i find good scratch samples/phrases on stand-up comedy records like bill cosby, cheech n chong, steve martin....

I found some dope ish on a Charlie Brown 45, crazy cartoon sound effects and stuff...my friend's mom gave it to me, it came with a children's book

old bbc kids programmes are the isg - playschool and that - lots of couting and alphabets for spelling ish out

foriegn language instructional records - just cozz they sound funny

my fav is the outro to the isle of man tt record i have, with murray walker wittering on about the greatest world champion..... other that that though, its just the sound of motorbike after motorbike whizzing past the mic????

are you guys talking LIVE music concerts or comedy albums cause thats two different types of records.
i collect kiddies records, i got a gang of kiddies records. but LIVE music albums i try to stay away from, mostly because when i dj i can't use them they throw off the sound from a studio cut to a live cut.

LIVE and comedy/kiddie/spoken word/speeches
are two different types of records in my book.
i dig a good LIVE album dont get me wrong but it 's not one of my strong points of collecting over the last few yrs i have turned or passed on LIVE recordings, only cause they wont get played in my set's it changes the mood feel of the crowd, so i tend to saty away ,

then you got to know this about me, is that i collect records for the music and i need to be able to play it in a set , i 'am a dj/collector first,then dj /producer/beatloop maker

...and i brought up comedy records mainly answering the questions about scratch records that aren't "scratch records"....but also the comedy records i mentioned (steve martin, bill cosby.....) are also live records....live stand up comedy, which the applause could also be interested in mess with (hadn't thought of that b4)....
i am a dj 1st aswell...and i usually stay away from live records too...but as a button puncher i love using samples from stand up comedy like bill cosby talks to kids about drugs (my fav)
