confused about the mpc 2500?????

Okay, first of all I am about a paycheck away from affording a 2500 which seems to be the preferred mpc by most of the people on here. My question is "does the mpc 2500 have waveform edit?" I used the 2000xl once, just once and I sort of liked that feature. I was stuck on getting the 2000xl but I see almost everybody convincing others to get the 2500. which is the better buy? If the 2500 doesn't use waveform edit, does it use something better?? Might be a stupid question but the guitar center is an hour away from my house and I don't feel like making the drive. thanks

someone back me up on this but if he got an MPC 1000 BK (version with new pads) and the JJ OS, would it do the same thing AND save him around $1000...?

Yes, it has Waveform editing.

Tip: you can look those things up in the manual you can download.

Thanks a lot STILO, I just never seen anyone bring that feature up about the 2500. I was thinking about getting the 1000 man but I don't want to deal with the pad issues and whatever else it has wrong with it, not saying its a bad machine, just not my preference. I'd be a fool spending $2000 for a 2500, I'm about to get it off of a friend for $1100 which isn't that bad.

1100 is a good deal for a 2500, so that might be better for him in this instance, but a lot of people such as _Stilo_ are getting caught slipping on the mpc1000

Yes, you might be right..if you can deal with the overall smaller build and user interface, it might finally be a good machine. Still, I would never buy one (and then spend another $30 to make it work right...)

That's what I meant by user interface, doesn't really give it more functions, but makes it easier and faster to use.

Pads used as numeric keypad = keypad useless

Qlink knobs - don't use em

tilt screen = Mixer stand with tilt, $70

$30 for JJOS = still have to end up buying that for the 2500 so the OS doesn't have the save bug problem

Not using the Q-Links is personal preference. Someone else might. And having to buy a $70 mixer stand to make the display readable is kinda proving my point too. Also remember the 1000 doesn't take a CD drive...

It's a matter of preference, both machines have their right to exist I guess.

But help me understand the price myth here...I see fully maxed 2500's for $2000, and a fully maxed 1000 for $1100. Is that including the $180 pad fix already or not?
