I was thinkin' about a new os specifically made for live setup, whitout all the sampling features, that would turn the mpc2500 into a loop machine.
Just audition a loop while the sound is playing, load it, have it timestretched AUTOMATICALLY, assign it to a pad and start playin'it.
Having the stereo out act as a cue, the qlink sliders working just like a dj mixer, crossfading loops/scenes, using it as a transformer (each time cursor goes down the audio shut, each time it goes up audio plays back) and so on..
Dunno if it could be done, but would definitely be usefull!
Also think about splitting the JJos in two parts, so I could advance editing my samples in "JJsampleOS", flash in "JJsequencerOS" and program my music in a more confortable environment, getting 'round the memory size limitations the hardware is givin'us.. For sure it would have a bit of a complex workflow, but an interesting option to evaluate..
nice beats to everybody
