it would be dope if in the chop screen...

pads 1-13 (bank a) would trigger/select slices 1-12.
pads 1-13 (bank b) would trigger/select slices 13-24.
pads 1-13 (bank c) would trigger/select slices 25-36.
pads 1-13 (bank d) would trigger/select slices 37-48.

that way you could jump quickly between slices to hear how the chops work in relation to each other. this would definitely streamline the workflow in the chop screen.

...and now that i think about it, i think pad 16 should change from "play all" to "play current slice." and "play all" should go on the play start button (its not mapped to any function on the chop screen anyway). this would be good just in case you have more than 48 chops.

damn, i would love to see this happen...

i agree that in chop mode each pad should be able to play a different chop. maybe they can add an option where you could choose to do it the current way or have all 16 pads be used to play a particular chop.

and from the moment i first got my 2500, i've been begging for them to change the way samples are played in the trim window to be mono one-shot rather than note-on. i can't stand having to hold a pad down to see how my end points are.

Wicked suggestion Punchdrunk. I would love to see this too.
Have you e-mailed the almighty?

co-sign with both of you, pad assignment i don't care for as much as having one-shot mode. i wonder if it would take much space on the OS to assign pads?

even better what if you didnt have to actually chop the sample, assign a program to just play each of the sections specified for that sample in the trim screen.. thats what i heard the asr 10 did, am i wrong?

yeah, i started a thread about that awhile ago...
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... highlight=

but once code space started running out the idea of new features getting added was pretty much shot down.

too bad though...

non destructive chopping would have most definitely brought the 1000 to a whole nother level.....

well, more accurately, it would drag the mpc kicking and screaming to the level that others achieved with ease many many years ago :)

That would be a dope function for the 1000 because my mv8800 already does this without destroying the sample, non destructive editing is the sh!t. Each slice is assigned to a pad but yet the sample is still in its enirety plus you can then make it into a kit then edit each hit extremely. Not to sound like a commercial just if the 1000 did this even somewhat would take it to another level. Im sure thats too much code for this machine though. :?

non destructive editing has been knocked back by JJ before :(

Damn...

This thing would be the bomb...
Its really often you have to go back to slicing a sample cause you did somting wrong or just wan´t to make somthing different...

yeah, but if i remember correctly JJ actually changed the trim screen somewhat in preparation for implementing a form of non destructive chopping.

but since the os is running out of codespace it stopped all that from happening.

:D Well I'll be D@mned!!! That's what Im talkin bout! Have I mentioned that I have been using my 1000 more these days :?

 Thats whats up though. I cant wait to see this on the 1000. Along with ADSR more editing functions out the @$$. I needs that!

with the os2 this is easy'r
now the chops are extracted to new files.. so u cant change them anymore.
but with the os2 u can adjust the points if something is wrong...
am i right lol
