go to "OLD PROGRAM MODE" and hit F4..

what does your notes look like?

mine is like this:

pad1= C# pad2=C pad3=F# pad4=A#... and so on.

It looks all random to me. and when i reset to default it's still like this i would really like these to be chromatic. Anybody know how to'?

i ask'd like 2 days ago so i guess il help,

Mode,Pad7,F4 now go through your pads and use data wheel to make it go from 35-98. save as a program

or i think maybe you could go. mode,p7,scroll to tune, press window, then auto

Thanks alot. I wouldn't have thought that "tune" could have had anything to do with that! Thanks again.

the best way i've found to setup the pads in chromatic order is:

-----------
hit mode + pad 11
move the cursor to the second column ("NOTE")
hit window
hit F3 ("35-98")
--------------------

and there you go, now all your pads are in chromatic order!
peace.

yup

balls, your pads are in that order because that's the default setting, the general midi layout, which corresponds to a lot of the older modules which lays out the samples in the same way.

http://www.midistudio.com/Help/GMSpecs_PercMap.htm

outdated and largely useless if you're creating your own program in the mpc
i wish the default was chromatic instead of GM.
