Altering samples

I was just wondering to see what/how all of you alter your samples. For the most part I just use 16 levels, and now I'm lookin for some more complex ways to tweek my samples.

Filter, Chopping(zone), Reverse... I use em all.

yeah get into the habit of chopping samples up, and then replaying your own melody out of those chops you got. have fun. experiment. I'll admit i still use 16 levels but i use a lot of other techniques to freak my samples also.

Another thing you might want to do is use the note variation slider, you can set it to adjust the tuning also and do some wicked stuff with it.

Whenever I chop my samples I alwas end up losing all the other sounds that were on the pads, and I dont know you to return them...

pawn, its probably cause its making a new pgm on DRUM2. and your original samples where in DRUM1. this is easily fixed by selecting a new seq track or the existing and chaging it back to DRUM1 or what ever pgm the sounds are in. maybe you didnt slice sounds to a new pgm. and they have just been added to memory and needed to be added to the pgm manually.

...forget that... just say "no" to create a new pgm... and just manually assign the chops to the pads you want...
